AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH APPROVING AN AGREEMENT
WITH THE KENTUCKY DEPARTMENT FOR LOCAL GOVERNMENT TO OBTAIN A
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT AWARD ON BEHALF OF THE FOUR RIVERS
BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CENTER POINT RECOVERY CENTER, AND AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT FOR SAME
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah adopted Municipal Order No. 1136 on April 26, 2005
authorizing the application for a Community Development Block Grant from the Governor's Office for
Local Development for the Four Rivers Behavioral Health Recovery Center Project (Center Point); and
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah adopted Ordinance No. 2006-4-7107 to enter into an
agreement with the Kentucky Department for Local Government for a Community Development Block
Grant Award in the amount of $300,000 to be used for staffing and start-up costs for the Four Rivers
Behavioral Health Center Point Recovery Center; and
WHEREAS, the City adopted Resolutions authorizing submittal of renewal applications
for the CDBG funds in the amount of $300,000 on January 23, 2007, December 4, 2007, and January 27,
2009; and
WHEREAS, the original grant agreement expired on June 30, 2011; and
WHEREAS, the Kentucky Department for Local Government would like to extend the
Community Development Block Grant Award through November 30, 2014, and offer a new grant
agreement in the amount of $531,529.
BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah approves an Agreement with the Kentucky
Department for Local Government to obtain a Community Development Block Grant Award on behalf of
Four Rivers Behavioral Health Center Point Recovery Center. The City agrees with the extension of the
CDBG Award through November 30, 2014 and increasing the original grant amount from $300,000 to
$531,529. No local match is required.
SECTION 2. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute an Agreement with the
Kentucky Department for Local Government for the Center Point Recovery Center as approved in Section
1 above.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
