AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH APPROVING AND
ACCEPTING A 2009 KENTUCKY TRANSPORTATION ENHANCEMENT
REIMBURSEMENT GRANT AWARD FROM THE KENTUCKY TRANSPORTATION
CABINET FOR THE GREENWAY TRAILS PROJECT III AND AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT FOR SAME
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah adopted Municipal Order No. 1422 on January
13, 2009, to apply for a Transportation Enhancement Reimbursement Grant, for the Greenway
Trails Project III; and
WHEREAS, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has approved the application
and is now ready to award this grant.
BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The City of Paducah hereby approves and accepts a 2009 Kentucky
Transportation Enhancement Reimbursement Grant Award in the amount of $500,000.00 for the
Greenway Trails Project, Phase III. This portion of the project is for the extension of the
existing Paducah Greenway Trail west through the Perkins Creek Nature Preserve. The project
will include the construction of 4,000 feet of trail, a gravel parking lot and a wooden trailway
and bridge.
SECTION 2. That the City hereby authorizes the Mayor to execute an agreement
for the grant award in the amount of $500,000 approved and accepted in Section 1 above. The
local cash match in the amount of $150,000 will be met with the 2010 Bond Issue and/or Boyles
Estate Trust Fund
SECTION 3. This expenditure shall be charged through project account
PA00092-KY DOT Greenway Phase III.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
