HomeMy WebLinkAbout2016-03-8351ORDINANCE 2016-3-8351 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING CHANGE ORDER NO.2 WITH ENVIRONMENTAL ABATEMENT, INC. FOR DEMOLITION OF A CONDEMNEDIUNSAFE STRUCTURE LOCATED AT 432 BROADWAY IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE APPROVED CHANGE ORDER WHEREAS, the City approved Ordinance No. 2015-7-8277 to enter into a contract with Environmental Abatement, Inc., (EAI, Inc.) in the amount of $458,685.00 for the demolition of a condemned/unsafe structure located at 432 Broadway; and WHEREAS, the City approved Ordinance No. 2015-12-8330 authorizing Change Order No. 1 with Environmental Abatement, Inc., in the amount of $20,933.00, for increase rental charge for barricades, fence, toilets, and road plates; remobilization of equipment and personnel; property survey; permanent shoring evaluation cost between EAI, Inc., & Associated Engineers; and increased contract time of 103 calendar days; and WHEREAS, EAI, Inc., is requesting Change Order No. 2 in the amount of $48,S38.00 $15,560.00 for additional asbestos abatement charges, and an additional two months rental for barricades, fence, toilets & road plates due to delay in shoring/design/install; and are also EAI, Inc., is requesting an additional 3011 days contract extension; therefore, increasing the total contract price to $490;448.00 $494,778.00 and extending the completion date for demolition to March N 8, 2016; and WHEREAS, the City agrees to approve Change Order No. 2 and authorize the Mayor to execute said document. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. The City of Paducah hereby approves Change Order No. 2 for an increase in the amount of $10,830.00 $15,160.00 with Environmental Abatement, Inc., for additional asbestos abatement charges, and additional rental of barricades, fencing, toilets and road plates due to the delay of the demolition of the condemned/unsafe structure located at 432 Broadway; date to Mar -eh 27, 2016,, therefore, increasing the total cost to $490,448.00 $494,778.00. Subsequently, the completion date will be extended to March 8, 2016. SECTION 2. The Mayor of the City of Paducah is hereby authorized to execute Change Order No. 2 approved in Section 1 above. SECTION 3. Expenditures for this project will be processed through Project Account DT0034. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424. ATTEST: Tammara S.
