ROLL CALL
At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners, held in the
Commission Chambers at City Hall at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday,
May 31, 1994, Mayor Montgomery presided, and upon call of the
roll by the City Clerk, the following answered to their names:
Commissioners Coleman, Grumley, Hornsby, Renfro and Mayor
Montgomery (5).
( NOTICES OF CALLED MEETING
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner
Grumley, that the executed copies of the Notice of Called
Meeting to be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 31, 1994, be
received and filed. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas,
Commissioners Coleman, Grumley, Hornsby, Renfro and Mayor
Montgomery (5).
AGENDA ITEMS:
1. Empowerment Zone Presentation. Rhonda Lee -James, Director
of Community Planning and Development, gave a slide
Jpresentation on the Empowerment Zone. She explained that this
is a program instituted by President Clinton. There will be
104 Empowerment Zones designated nationwide. If selected, the
City of Paducah would receive $3 million.
The slides provided the information for the following categories:
A. Plan Organization
B. Vision Statement
C. Objectives (3)
Action plans for each objective.
The Mayor, Commissioners and City Manager were given copies of
the above plan.
2. Budget Review.
3. Discussion of employment of Firefighters.
*NOTE: The City Clerk was not present for discussion of Items
2 and 3.
Upon motion the Meeting adjourned.
