HomeMy WebLinkAbout2011-6-7818ORDINANCE NO. 2011-6-7818 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A LEGALLY BINDING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PADUCAH AND WESTERN KENTUCKY SENIOR CITIZENS UNION LABOR HOUSING CORPORATION TO OBTAIN A MATCHING GRANT FROM THE COMMONWEALTH OF KENTUCKY, DEPARTMENT OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT FOR THE JACKSON HOUSE CDBG PROJECT WHEREAS, the City of Paducah has entered into a Grant Agreement (Number 10-109) with the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Department of Local Government; and WHEREAS, the payment of funds to the City under the terms of the Grant Agreement is contingent upon Western Kentucky Senior Citizens Union Labor Housing Corporation to undertake certain responsibilities; and WHEREAS, the funds made available under the terms of the Grant Agreement will directly benefit Western Kentucky Senior Citizens Union Labor for rehabilitation of two existing elevators and commence construction of a new elevator to the side of the building located at 301 South 91h Street, Paducah, Kentucky; and WHEREAS, the City is only the award recipient on behalf of the rehabilitation project for the Jackson House. BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah hereby approves the legally binding agreement between the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and Western Kentucky Senior Citizens Union Labor Housing Corporation to be the award recipient for CDBG funds through the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Department of Local Government for the rehabilitation project for the Jackson House Senior Housing located at 301 South 9th Street. SECTION 2. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the legally binding agreement approved in Section 1 with Western Kentucky Senior Citizens Union Labor Housing Corporation to obtain a matching grant in the amount of $1,000,000. The local required cash match of $114,100 and cost overruns will be provided by Western Kentucky Senior Citizens Union Labor Housing Corporation. SECTION 3. These funds will be accounted for in Project Account CD0078. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424. A TEST: CA 6 Tammara S.
