AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE A GRANT AGREEMENT AND ALL DOCUMENTS RELATING THERETO
WITH THE KENTUCKY LEAGUE OF CITIES FOR A 2011 SAFETY AND LIABILITY
MATCHING GRANT
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah applied for a Kentucky League of Cities 2011
Matching Safety Grant adopted by Municipal Order No. 1596 on March 22, 2011, for the
purchase of equipment for the Fire Department for respirator fit testing ($8,915.00), a spirometer
$4,085) as well as a KMESHA registration ($225); and
WHEREAS, the Kentucky League of Cities has approved the application and is
now ready to award this grant.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute a Grant
Agreement and all documents relating thereto with the Kentucky League of Cities, that will
reimburse the City up to $6,000.00 for the purchase of equipment for the Fire Department for
respirator fit testing ($8.915), spirometer ($4,085) as well as a KMESHA registration fee ($225)
for the Fire and Risk Management Departments. This program requires local matching funds of
$ 7,225.00 and will be provided from the Risk Management and Fire Department budgets.

SECTION 2. This expenditure shall be charged to 2011 KLC Safety Grant
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
