ORDINANCE NO. 2015-9-8298
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO PAY FOR
THE SOLE SOURCE PURCHASE OF BODY CAMERAS TO BE USED BY THE PADUCAH
POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, a written determination has been made by the City Manager that this
will be a sole source purchase pursuant to Sec. 2-659(2) of the Code of Ordinances of the City of
Paducah, Kentucky, based on research over the last several months by the Police Department the
camera offered by Taser International demonstrated field proficiency, with Taser being the only
company that offers cloud storage on its servers rather than the City having to purchase servers. .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah hereby authorizes the Finance Director to
make a sole source purchase from. Taser International in the amount of $105,540, for 65 body
camera units to be used by the Paducah Police Department.
SECTION 2. The expenditure approved in Section 1 above will be expended
from project account PO0090.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
