HomeMy WebLinkAbout2010-11-7762ORDINANCE NO. 2010-11-7762 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO PAY FOR THE EMERGENCY REPAIR OF ELECTRICAL SERVICE LOCATED AT FIRE STATION #2 AND THE CONNECTION OF AN EMERGENCY GENERATOR —� WHEREAS, lightening struck Fire Station #2 located at 3000 Wayne Sullivan Drive terminating all electrical service at the fire station; and WHEREAS, a written determination has been made by the City Manager that the full operation of this fire station is required for public safety and that any and all appropriate construction precautions and repairs necessary to eliminate the public threat be taken immediately at this site pursuant to Sec. 2-659 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky; and WHEREAS, Paducah Water had recently installed an emergency generator to serve their water pump plant and Fire Station #2 but the generator had not yet been connected to Fire Station #2. Therefore, to save time, money and to have the fire station connected to an emergency generator as soon as possible, the connection of the emergency generator was completed in conjunction with the electrical service repair. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. The Finance Director is hereby authorized to pay Crown Electric Inc., the sum of $30,118.27, for the emergency repair of electrical service located at Fire Station #2 and connection of an emergency generator installed by Paducah Water. The City will be reimbursed $6,947.25 of this expense from the insurance company after a $1,000 deductible. SECTION 2. This expenditure shall be charged to Fire Department Property/Plant account. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424. ATTEST: Tammara S.
