AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A
CONTRACT RENEWAL WITH MAGIC ICE USA INC. FOR INSTALLATION OF A
SEASONAL ICE SKATING RINK LOCATED IN THE DOWNTOWN AREA, AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SAME
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2008-6-7429, adopted by the City of Paducah on June
24, 2008, authorized the execution of a contract between the City of Paducah and Magic Ice USA
Inc.; and
WHEREAS, the bid specifications contained a provision providing for the
renewal of said contract for three (3) additional one (1) year periods to follow immediately
thereafter if such renewals are mutually agreed upon by the parties; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2009-8-7584 adopted by the City of Paducah on
August 4, 2009, authorized the execution of a contract renewal for a period of one (1) year with
Magic Ice USA Inc., in the amount of $92,500.00, for installation of a seasonal ice skating rink;

WHEREAS, the City desires to, again, exercise said option to renew for a period
of one (1) year.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a contract renewal for a
period of one (1) year with Magic Ice USA Inc., in the amount of $92,500.00, for installation of a
seasonal ice skating rink, and as contained in the bid of Magic Ice USA Inc. of June 2, 2008.
SECTION 2. This purchase shall be charged to Project Account No. PA 0090.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
