AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, APPROVING A
MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH GREYHOUND LINES, INC., AND AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
WHEREAS, Greyhound Lines, Inc., proposes to move the existing customer service operation
and bus station operations to 2719 Irvin Cobb Drive; and
Kentucky; and
WHEREAS, the City leadership strongly supports Greyhound remaining in Paducah,
WHEREAS, the community leaders recognize the importance of the current and future
services that Greyhound provides to the existing industries and citizens of Paducah; and
WHEREAS, in order to induce Greyhound Lines, Inc. to continue operations in Paducah,
Kentucky, the City has agreed to provide certain economic incentives to Greyhound for purposes of
defraying some of the relocation costs; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed necessary and advisable that this MOU be entered into by the
parties setting forth their agreement with respect to the location and the economic incentives to be provided
to defray some of the relocation costs thereof, and
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
Section 1. The Board of Commissioners does hereby approve the terms of the
Memorandum of Understanding between the City and Greyhound Lines, Inc., which defines the City's
commitment to give a lump sum payment of $12,000.00 as an economic incentive and help defer
relocation costs. In accordance with such approval, the Mayor of the City is hereby authorized and
directed to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with Greyhound Lines, Inc., which sets forth the
terms of the City's commitment with regard to economic incentives and relocation costs.
Section 2. These funds shall be appropriated from account no. 004-040-1536-2307.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become effective
upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
