HomeMy WebLinkAbout2010-8-7734ORDINANCE 2010-8-7734 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 WITH YOUNGBLOOD EXCAVATING AND CONTRACTING COMPANY, INC. FOR THE BUILDING, DEMOLITION & LIQUIDATION OF THE EXECUTIVE INN RIVERFRONT HOTEL -PHASE I PROJECT; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE APPROVED CHANGE ORDER; AND APPROVING PAYMENT TO THE CONVENTION CENTER CORPORATION FOR LIQUIDATION OF THE COMMERCIAL KITCHEN EQUIPMENT WHEREAS, the City approved Ordinance No. 2010-7-7706 to enter into a contract with Youngblood Excavating & Contracting, LLC, in an amount not to exceed $217,000 for the Building, Demolition & Liquidation of the Executive Inn Riverfront Hotel -Phase I Project; and WHEREAS, the City desires to add the commercial kitchen equipment located in the Julian Carroll Convention Center, owned by the Convention Center Corporation, to the liquidation and add the removal/demolition of the Executive Inn Riverfront Signage located at 3rd Street and Executive Boulevard; and WHEREAS, Youngblood agrees to pay $15,000 for the addition of the commercial kitchen equipment and removal/demolition of the signage at no additional cost; therefore, making it necessary to create Change Order No.I to reduce the initial cost from $217,000 to $202,000; and WHEREAS, the City agrees the savings of the $15,000 will be paid to the Convention Center Corporation; and WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City to approve Change Order No. 1 and authorize the Mayor to execute said document. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. The City of Paducah hereby approves to add the sale of the commercial kitchen equipment from the Julian Carroll Convention Center in the amount of $15,000, and the removal of the "Big E" signage at no cost, to the liquidation contract with Youngblood Excavating and Contracting, LLC in the form of Change Order No. 1, therefore, reducing initial costs from $217,000 to $202,000, for the Building, Demolition & Liquidation of the Executive Inn Riverfront Hotel -Phase I Project. SECTION 2. The City will pay $15,000 to the Convention Center Corporation for liquidation of the commercial kitchen equipment located at the Julian Carroll Convention Center. SECTION 3. The Mayor of the City of Paducah is hereby authorized to execute Change Order No. 1 approved in Section 1 above. I oil Lilly 0 SECTION 4.
