AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING AN ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND
CONSERVATION BLOCK GRANT AWARD THROUGH THE KENTUCKY
DEPARTMENT FOR LOCAL GOVERNMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $50,000 FOR THE
VOLUNTEER -OPERATED RECYCLING DROP OFF CENTER
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah applied for a Kentucky Department of Local
Government Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant award adopted by Municipal
Order No. 1501 on December 8, 2009; and
WHEREAS, the Kentucky Department for Local Government has approved the
application and is now ready to award this grant.
BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The City of Paducah hereby accepts and authorizes the Mayor to
execute a grant agreement in partnership with the Jackson Purchase Resource Conservation and
Development Foundation, Greater Paducah Sustainability, and Recycle Now for an Energy
Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant through the Kentucky Department for Local
Government, in the amount of $50,000, to purchase five recycle bins. No local match is
required.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
