AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE CHANGE
ORDER NO. 1 WITH LARRY SMITH CONTRACTORS, INC., FOR THE CITY OF
PADUCAH'S FLOODWALL PIPE REHABILITATION PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City approved Ordinance No. 2008-10-7477 to enter into a
contract with Larry Smith Contractors, Inc., in the amount of $1,764,605.28 for the City of
Paducah's Floodwall Pipe Rehabilitation Project; and
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 1 is required for an increase in the amount of
$143,640.45 for additional work, associated with a Proof Test developed by the Corps of
Engineers during the same period Larry Smith Contractors, Inc. was performing the floodwall
pipe rehabilitation project, involving special construction sequencing, additional mobilizations
delays and additional work not included in the original contract scope, increasing the total
contract price to $1,908,245.73.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute Change Order No. 1 for
an increase in the amount of $143,640.45 with Larry Smith Contractors, Inc., for the City of
Paducah's Floodwall Pipe Rehabilitation Project, increasing the total cost to $1,908,245.73.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
