HomeMy WebLinkAbout2010-5-7680ORDINANCE 2010-5-7680 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE CHANGE ORDER #1 WITH MARTIN, COLSON, HALE & HENDERSON, TO PREPARE A REPORT ON THE RANGE OF POSSIBLE TAX RATES EXPECTED FOR BUSINESS LICENSE TAX ASSUMING A CHANGE TO NET INCOME BASIS AND THE SIGNIFICANT ASSOCIATED ASSUMPTIONS FOR THE CITY OF PADUCAH WHEREAS, the City of Paducah adopted Ordinance No. 2009-2-7517 authorizing the Mayor to execute a contract with Martin, Colson, Hale & Henderson, in an amount not to exceed $7,500, to prepare a report of the projected business license tax rate; and WHEREAS, in order to make the study even more data rich, the City's Finance Department requested that the firm prepare additional research to identify which entities would pay more and less in license tax fees and the magnitude of such change, overall and by business classification; and WHEREAS, Change Order No. 1 in the amount of $1,850, is required to complete the additional research, increasing the total contract amount to $9,350. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute Change Order No. 1 with Martin, Colson, Hale & Henderson to complete additional research to identify which entities would pay more and less in license tax fees and the magnitude of such change, overall and by business classification for an increase in the amount of $1,850, increasing the total cost to $9,350. SECTION 2. This expenditure shall be charged to MR0034 Project Account. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424. ATTEST: AG (//,( Tammara S.
