AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE ALL
DOCUMENTS NECESSARY WITH THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO
GOVERNMENT FOR A 2010 PROJECT SAFE NEIGHBORHOODS GRANT AWARD
WHEREAS, the Louisville/Jefferson County Metro Government, through the
Louisville Metro Criminal Justice Commission, has made federal grant funds available to other
units of local government; and
WHEREAS, the Louisville/Jefferson County Metro Government has offered an
award to the City of Paducah Police Department for equipment and is now ready to award this
grant.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute all documents necessary
with the Louisville/Jefferson County Metro Government for a 2010 Project Safe Neighborhoods
Grant Award in the amount of $15,000.00 for the Paducah Police Department to purchase one
digital video recorder/transmitter, one transmitter repeater, one covert cell phone listening
device, one GPS covert vehicle tracker and two covert digital/video recording devices. The
award does not require any local matching funds.
SECTION 2. This expenditure shall be charged to 2010 Project Safe
Neighborhoods Grant account; Project No. PO0054.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
