AN ORDINANCE, AUTHORIZING. -:THE. PAYMENT OF $3,1816,..571 TO MORTON
SALT COMPANY -FOR THE- PURCHAS9-,OF-.SA4.,T;,RATIFYING, THE -ACTION, OF, THE CITY
MANAGER, AND DECLARINGI;A-N'7 EIMERG ENCY. TO EXIST
WHEREAS, it was deemed by the City Manager and: -the Superintendent of
the. -Street-ptthat it,Departme -- was impprative, that salt be purchased., for the removal
of snow.from city streets, and-:-.
WHEREAS,, the. City Manager- pursuant to,-KRS ,424.2-60. certified--th-at, an
emergency existed and. authorized ,the_,purc.hase of said. salt from Morton.,, Salt Company,
for the., sum. of -$3, 816.51.,_
NOW,, .-THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED. BY THE BOARD OF. COMMISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION
1.
That the
City Manager and
City Treasurer be,
and they. are
hereby, authorized
and
directed
to pay the sum of
$3,816.51 to -Morton
Salt Company
for .:the, purchase of salt for removal of snow from city streets.
SECTION 2. The action of the City Manager, pursuant .to KRS 424.260,
certifying an emergency existed is hereby approved and his actions rthereunder are
hereby, ratified.
SECTION 3. The purchase price for said salt shall be charged to, Federal
Revenue Sharing Account No. 3412.
SECTION 4. An emergency is declared to exist. and-. this. ordinance shall
therefore be introduced and remain on file for public inspection for, at -least one
week,in, the completed form in which it shall be put upon its. final -passage, and -if
adopted. shall be in full force and effect immediately thereafter.
