HomeMy WebLinkAbout78-1-1523V1 727 ORDINANCE NO. 78-1-1523 AN ORDINANCE CONVEYING TO DUKE AND LONG DISTRIBUTING COMPANY, INC. ALL OF THE INTEREST OF THE CITY, IF ANY, IN AND TO THE PROPERTY KNOWN AS THE LEE SCHOOL PROPERTY AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A QUITCLAIM DEED THERETO WHEREAS, by a letter dated January 6, 1978, the Board of Education of the Paducah, Kentucky Independent School District requested that the City make a quitclaims conveyance of any interest it might have of the property known as the Lee School property, and WHEREAS, the records of the City of Paducah reveal that the City does not claim any interest in said property. NOW', THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah convey to Duke and Long Distributing Company, Inc . , all of the interest of the City, if any, in and to the property known as the Lee School property, said property situated in the City of Paducah and more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of Ohio and Oak Streets, thence down Oak. Street 173, feet.. 3 inches, .thence_. at,.rig.ht .angles . towards_.Ches.t7 nut Street 173 feet 3 inches, thence at right angles 173 feet 3 inches to Ohio Street., -..thence with Ohio. Street-. 1.73 feet 3 . inches . to; the begin- ning . Being the same property which was conveyed to City of -Paducah by deed of conveyance of Mary A. Long and others,., -dated: October .13, - 1874 and recorded in Deed Book X, page 455, in the McCracken County Court Clerk's Office; thence conveyed by Board of Education of the Paducah, Kentucky Independent School District to Harold Jones by deed dated the 24th day of March 1975 and recorded in Deed Book 571., page 468 in said -clerk's office; thence conveyed by Harold Jones and his wife, Elissa F. Jones, to Duke and Long Distributing Company, Inc . , by deed dated the day of January 1978 and recorded in Deed Book , page in said clerk's office. SECTION 2. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute, on behalf of the City of Paducah, a quitclaim deed conveying all the interest of the City, if any, in and to said property with no warrenty as to title, and subject to any state of facts that might be shown by an accurate survey. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
