ORDINANCE NO. 78-10-1631
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 20-77 "SPEED LIMIT IN SCHOOL
ZONES" OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Section 20-77 "Speed limit in school zone", of the Code
of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that
said sections shall read as fol4ows:
(a) The following school zones shall be established, and school flasher
lights shall operate during the following hours:

(b) In those
areas where the
City of Paducah
has control of the highway,
it shall be unlawful for
any person
to operate any motor
vehicle at a speed in
excess
of 15 miles per hour in
any school
zone
where
school flasher lights are in operation.
In all other areas the governmental
unit
having
control of the highway shall determine
the speed limit.
(c) "Highways" as used
in this section shall
mean any public road
or
street maintained by the city, county or state.
(d)
Any person violating any provision
of this section shall,
upon
con-

viction thereof,
ba -fined not less than $25.00 nor more than $100.00 for
each
offense.
SECTION 2. This ordinance amends ordinance No. 78-9-1610, adopted
by the Board of Commissioners -on 'September12-, 1978.,,-

SECTION 3. Upon -adoption --this ordinance shall be -in full force and effect
and retroactive to September 1, 1978.
