ORDINANCE NO. 77-12-1517
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER AND
CITY TREASURER TO PAY THE SUM OF $900.00 to OSCAR CARTER, JR. FOR FULL
AND COMPLETE SETTLEMENT OF ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF THE LAWSUIT

ENTITLED, "OSCAR CARTER, JR., V. CITY OF PADUCAH",
WHEREAS, on January 21, 1977, Oscar Carter, Jr. filed in the McCracken
Circuit Court Civil Action No. 16,083, a lawsuit against the City of Paducah, and
WHEREAS, upon the advice and recommendation of the Corporation Counsel
the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, without admitting
liability, now deems that the payment of the sum of $900.00 as a full and complete
settlement is just and in the best interest of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager and the City Treasurer are hereby
authorized and directed to pay the sum of $900.00 to Oscar Carter, Jr., as full and
complete settlement for all claims arising out of the lawsuit entitled, "Oscar Carter, Jr.
v. City of Paducah", McCracken Circuit Court, Civil Action No. 16,083.
SECTION 2. That Account No. 1565 is to be charged with the aforesaid
SUM.
SECTION 3. An emergency is declared to exist and this - ordinance shall
be introduced and remain on file for one week for public inspection in the completed
form in which it shall be put upon its final passage, and if adopted shall be in full
force and effect immediately thereafter.
