ORDINANCE NO. 77-10-1483
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 6 OF "AN ORDINANCE RELATING
PROMOTIONS IN THE -- PROVIDING TO PR PADUCAH FIRE DEPARTMENT; PRO G THAT SUCH
PROMOTIONS WILL BE MADE ON THE BASIS OF' MERIT, QUALIFICATIONS CATIONS AND
SENIORITY; ESTABLISHING PROCEDURES FOR THE DETERMINATION OF MERIT AND
QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION FOR PROMOTION"
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE
CITY OF PADUCAH', KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Section 6 of Ord1. inance No . 77-8-1454 of the Code
of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained so
that said section as amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows:
"Sec. 6 - SENIORITY REQUIREMENTS. Applicants to be eligible to
apply for the rank of lieutenant shall have held the rank of firefighter` for a period of
four (4) years, and the position of relief driver for a period of not less than two (2)
years. Applicants to be eligible able to apply 1 for the rank of captain shall have held the
rank of lieutenant for a period of four (4) years. Applicants to be eligible to apply for
the rank of assistant chief shall have held the
rank of captain for a period of four (4)
years. One point shall be assigned for each year of seniority, up to a maximum of
thirty (30) points"

77-8-1454, adopted on August 9, 1977 and last amended by Ordinance No. 77-
8-1462,
adopted August 30, 1977.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
