HomeMy WebLinkAbout77-7-1445559 ORDINANCE NO. 77-7-1445 AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF REED CRUSHED STONE COMPANY, INC . , FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF IT'S REQUIREMENT OF LIMESTONE, TO BE USED IN STREET CONSTRUCTION WORKFOR THE YEAR 1977, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE'A CONTPACT FOR ' SUCH PURCHASE BE IT ORDAINED" BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,'' KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah -'accept the bid of Reed Crushed Stone Company Inc., for sale to the City of'it's requirement of limestone to be used in street construction work for the year 1977, said bid being in words and figures as follows: P _.: "We propose to furnish, sell, and deliver, to the City of Paducah (within the city limits) crushed limestone, in lots of 100 tons.. or. more, as ordered, for $3.45 (three dollars and forty-five cents) per ton and riprap, as ordered, for $3.60 (three dollars and sixty cents) per ton. We will start delivery within twenty-four hours after receiving each order. This is a firm price and will not be advanced during the year 1977. In the event of a reduction in our market price, we agree to adjust the price accordingly. Material delivered with be according to Kentucky __State Highway specifications for No. 2, No. 3, No. 610, No.' 68', No. 78, No. 8, No. 9M, No. 11, and DGA crushed limestone. Riprap will also meet Kentucky State Highway specifications. If the contract is awarded to us, we agree to post a performance bond in the amount of $1,000.00. We also agree to conform with all other requirements as set forth in the request for bids on this material". Said bid being in substantial compliance with the resolution authorized by the Board Commissioners on June 14, 1977, and as contained in the bid of Reed Crushed Stone Company, Inc . , dated July 1, 1977. SECTION 2. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, .. authorized to execute a contract with Reed Crushed Stone Company, Inc , , for the purchase of the limestone as set out in Section 1 above, according to the provisions in said resolution and in said bid which is dated July 1, 1977. SECTION 3. The purchase price for said limestone and riprap shall be charged to either General Fund or Federal Revenue Sharing Account No. 3454. SECTION 4.
