A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY' MANAGER TO. 'ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF -PADUCAH :OF ADJUSTABLE 'MANHOLE RINGS TO BE USED
IN STREET RESURFACING WORK " ' ~ " " '
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF- THE CITY , OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to
advertise for bids for sale to the City of Paducah of 110 adjustable manhole rings to be
used for the purpose of raising manhole lids to an elevation flush with the new surface
of streets to be resurfaced in 1977..'- ' Spe~cificatoris for said adjustable manhole rings are
on file in the office of the City" Engineer, aril a.; copy of same is =also attached °hereto
and by reference incorporated herein .
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by a notice posted on
the bulletin board at City Hall and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Sun-
Democrat to be published as required by law. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall
be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same . All bids received
by the City Manager up to the time fixed for the opening of bids shall be filed with the
Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the best responsible bidder or bidders,
and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and
the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase same until the adoption of an
ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after
the date of its adoption .

Adjustable manhole rings shall be supplied for the purpose of
raising manhole lids to an elevation flush with the new surface of streets , to _ _
be resurfaced. The adjustable/expandable extension shall be capable of
expanding or contracting to fit the shape of the .existing manhole cover and
frame. The diamenter range to be~ provided'shall be from 20" to 242" . The
range of vertical height of adjustment shall be .from 1" to 14!', The edge,.

Rings shall be bid on a unit price basis and the City shall have the right
to ,..add or delete from the above estimated quantities at it's. discretion .
Delivery shall be completed within two weeks after the successful ,
bidder is notified .
