AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF FELEAN MOTORS, INC.
FOR SALE TO THE CITY'OF A,1977 -MERCURY GRAND.:�MARQUIS, FOR -THE SUM OF
$5,995. 00 PLUS TRADE-IN OF ONE1973` AMBASSADOR; AUTHORIZING' THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT AND ACCEPTING THE DONATION BY MAYOR
WILLIAM S. MURPHY OF THE SUM -OF $1,000.00 TO:: THE CITY -OF- PADUCAH, KENTUCKY
TO BE USED FOR THE PAYMENT OF THE BALANCE OF THE AFORESAID PURCHASE
PRICE.
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah on April 15, 1977* received automobile
bids as follows:
Allan Rhodes, Inc. - 1977 Ford LTD for $3,963.72, with trade-in
of a 1973 Ambassador (outright purchase, $5,063.72);
Stacy Chrysler -Plymouth -Dodge, Inc. - 1977 Dodge Monaco Brougham
for $4,229.00 with trade-in of a 1973 Ambassador, (outright
purchase, $5,239.00);
Felean Motors, Inc . , - 1977 Mercury Grand Marquis for $5,995.00,
WHEREAS, Mayor William '-S .. Murphy since aIn unfortunate accident in
1971 has suffered an impairment and disability 'to his' right leg which makes the over-
all size and other features of an automobile extraordinarily important for his use and
physical comfort; and
WHEREAS, the subject automobile is to be for the use and benefit of
the Mayor's office and Mayor William S. Murphy has personally examined each of the
models as submitted by the aforesaid bidders and has found that the 1977 Mercury
Grand Marquis is the model that most nearly accommodates his needs as a result of
his physical handicap; and
WHEREAS, in order for the City to obtain the aforesaid 1977 Mercury
Grand Marquis at a price that is reasonably competitive with the other models that
were submitted for consideration, Mayor William S. Murphy has offered to donate to
the City of Paducah the cash sum of $1, 000.00 to be applied to the purchase of the
aforesaid Mercury Grand Marquis to be used by the Mayor's office; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky
are of the opinion that as a result of the circumstances set forth above, it would
be in the best interest of the City that the bid of Felean Motors, Inc . , be accepted
and also that the donation of William S. Murphy be accepted and applied toward the
purchase price.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD- OF COMMISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah, Kentucky accept the bid of
Felean Motors, Inc. for the sale to the City of Paducah of one 1977 Mercury Grand
Marquis for the amount of $5,995.00 plus the trade-in of a 1973 Ambassador; said
bid meeting or exceeding the requirements in the advertisement for bids which was
authorized by a resolution previously passed by the Board of Commissioners on the
12th day of April, 1977, and as was more particularly contained in the bid of Felean
Motors, Inc . , dated April 20, 1977.
SECTION 2. That the aforesaid automobile shall be for the use and
benefit of the Mayor's office and that by reason of the circumstances more parti-
cularly set forth above, 'that: the City of Paducah," Kentucky, accept' the .Pdonation by
Mayor William S. Murphy,of the cash' sum - of $1 000.0-0 to �be applied to the purchase
price of the 1977 Mercury Grand Marquis as bid by' Felean- Motors.; Ihb.
SECTION 3. That the "City Manager be, and he is hereby.- authorized
to execute a contract with Felean Motors, Inc-. for the purchase by the City of
Paducah of a 1977 Mercury Grand Marquis according to the terms and conditions
as more particularly set forth above.
SECTION 4. The purchse price for the said automobile shall be
charged to Account No. 1114.
SECTION- 5,: ' 'This ordinance shall be introduced and remain on file for
one week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon
its final passage, and if adopted shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days
thereafter.
