AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING TWO ALTERNATE POSITIONS ON THE

BOARD OF
APPEAL OF ___
THE NATIONAL ,
BUILDING CODE
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah has adopted the National Building Code
to provide for safety, health and public welfare through structural strength and
stability of structures within the corporate limits of the City of Paducah, Kentucky,

and
WHER,EAS,~ pursuant to the provisions of the National Building Code
a Board of Appeal has been established and is staffed ^by five (5) appointees, and
WHEREAS, from time to time matters come before the members of the
Board of Appeal which are of such nature that in the interest of justice a member
or members of the aforesaid Board feel compelled to ask .to be disqualified from
hearing the said matter, and
WHEREAS, such circumstances can prevent the presence of a quorum,
and
WHEREAS , in the opinion of 'the Board of Commissioners provisions for
alternate members should be established in order to assist in. the elimination of the
aforesaid problem _
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That there is hereby established two (2) positions for
alternate members for the Board of Appeal of the National Building Code who shall
upon the disqualification, of a regular member from hearing a matter before the
Board shall serve, in his stead, upon the request of ,the Chairman, and who shall
have during the period of his service the full power and authority of, a regular
member of the Board .
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after the day of its adoption .
