ORDINANCE NO. 76-11-1347
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUB -SECTIONS (a) AND (b) OF SECTION
25-1 "NUMBER, RANK AND SALARIES OF MEMBERS OF DEPARTMENT" , OF ARTICLE I
"POLICE DEPARTMENT" OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH ,
KENTUCKY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Sub-section (a) of Section 25-1 "Number, rank and
salaries of members of department", of Article 'I "Police Department" of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained' so that
same as amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows:
"Sec. 25-1. Number, rank and salaries of members of department.
(a) The number and rank of members of the police department of the
City of Paducah and their monthly salaries, provided said salaries are not changed
by any annual apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted shall be as follows:
Positions Number of Positions Base Monthly Salary
Chief of Police 1 1, 500.00
Assistant Chief of Police 1 1,126.00
Captain 8 .. 970.00
Sergeants 14 907.00
Policemen 40 722.00
SECTION 2. That Sub-section (b) ~ of"Section 2.5-1 "Number, rank and
salaries of members of department", of Article I "Police Department" of the Code
of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained so
that same as amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows:
(b) The assistant chief of police shall be paid at the rate of $1,126.00
per month until such time as he has completed seventeen years of service with the city;
at the expiration of seventeen years and until he has served with the City for a
total of twenty years he shall be paid at the rate of $1,132.00 per month; at the
expiration of twenty years of service he shall be paid at the rate of $1,138.00 per
month; and at the expiration of twenty-five years of service he shall be paid at the
rate of $1,144.00 per month.

SECTION 3. This ordinance amends an ordinance originally enacted
on August 5, 1951 and which was last amended by Ordinance No. 76-7-1293,
adopted July 13, 1976.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption .
