ORDINANCE NO. 76-7-1306
AN_ ORDINANCE, AMENDING SECTIONS 12-44 AND .12-48 OF_ T.HE CODE: OF
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY
BE IT ,ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION.1. That Section 12-44 "Completion required;_ length of program"
of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, .Kentucky,, be amended and reordained
so that said section as amended and .reordained shall hereafter read as follows:
"Sec. 12-44, Completion required; length of program.. _
No person shall be employed as a fireman in the fire department of the City
until he has completed a training program and a probationary -period for a period of
one hundred twenty (120) days as an applicant-candidate, under the terms, provisions
and conditions as set out in this division and as established for training by the chief of
the Paducah, Fire Department."
_ SECTION 2. That Section 12-48 '!Salary of trainees" of the Code of Ordinances
be amended and reordained so that said section as amended and reordained shall hereafter
read as follows:
"Sec. 12-48,. Salary of. trainees.
Each person employed as an applicant-candidate for employment as a fireman
shall first be paid at the rate of $395...00 per month at the same time other city salaries
are paid, and such training shall be for training time at the rate of 40 hours per week.
Upon the completion of sixty (60) days training as an applicant-candidate, the individual
shall, upon recommendation of the chief of the Paducah Fire Department, be assigned
for training with a regular platoon and be paid at the rate of $2.30 per hour until the
completion of their training and probationary period . "
SECTION 3. Section 1 amends Section 1 of an ordinance pertaining to the
subject of Section 12-44 and passed April 27, 1962. Section 2 amends Section 5 of the
same ordinance adopted April 27, 1962 and which was last amended by Section 1 of
Ordinance No. 68-12-153 adopted December 27, 1968.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
the date of its adoption .
