ORDINANCE NO. 76-5-1269
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR. THE CLOSING OF THAT PORTION OF
ADAMS °STREET FRON!' THE "EAST LINE OF SOUTH SECOND STREET TO THE FLOODWALL
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD 'OF COMMISSIONERS OF 'THE CITY OF
PADUCAH,KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City _of Paducah does hereby authorize the closing
of that portion of Adams Street'"from the East line-of 'South Second Street to the Floodwall,
being more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the` intersection of the east right of way line of
South 2nd Street and the north right of way line of Adams Street;
thence in an easterly direction along the north right of way line
of Adams Street to a point in the west right of way line of the floodwall;
thence in a southerly direction along said west right of way line of
the floodwall to a point in the south right of way line of the afore-
mentioned Adams Street; thence in a westerly direction along said
south right of way line of Adams Street to a point in the aforementioned
east right of way line 'of South 2nd Street; thence in a northerly
direction along said east. right of way line of South 2nd Street projected ,
to the north right of way line of Adams.Street, the point of beginning.
There is to be excluded from the above closing a 25 foot strip , 12.5
feet either side of the existing Adams Street centerline, which will be
retained by the City of Paducah as an access easement to the floodwall .
SECTION 2 . That the Corporation Counsel of the City of Paducah , Kentucky
be, and he is hereby, authorized, empowered and directed to institute and prosecute,
pursuant to KRS 94.360, an action in the McCracken Circuit Court for a judgment
ordering the closing of the portion of the street described in Section 1 hereof .
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
the date of its adoption .
