HomeMy WebLinkAboutauthorizing submission of program EDA -198 9~ A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A PROGRAM TO THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE (EDA) FOR 'THE USE OF FEDERAL EXCESS PROPERTY WHEREAS, the Purchase Area-Development`District, Inc., consisting of the eight (8) counties of Ballard, Calloway,' Carlisle,- Fulton, Graves, Hickman, MarsYiall, and McCracken has developed and"adopted`-ari Overall Economic Development Program, identified problems and deficiencies and adopted goals and strategies to deal with them , and WHEREAS , the District has made an analysis of the Communities' problems and deficiencies , and determined that through the use of limited local funds , state turnback funds; 'federal Manpower funds; federal Revenue Sharing funds, and federal excess equipment, counties can make progress in solving many of these problems, and WHEREAS, 41 C .P ,-R-. Part 101=43 provides inter alia, for the transfer and use of excess personal property by an agency of the United States of America to an eligible grantee when such property will serve to (1) reduce the cost of the grantor contract, or (2) expand the ability of the grantee to fulfill the mission or obligation, and WHEIi,EAS , the Jackson Purchase Local Officials Organization , Inc . , has entered into agreement with the Purchase Area Development District, Inc. , whereby the Jackson Purchase Local Officials Organization, Inc. , is to provide coordination, administration, and leadership- to member units of government to develop their individual priorities , plans and programs . - ~ - NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED' BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, A POLITICAL SUBDIVISION OF" THE COMMONWEALTH OF KENTUCKY , that SECTION 1. The City of Paducah, .Kentucky, will receive responsibility for the Federal Excess Personal Property to provide coordination; administration, supervision within the community to develop it's individual priorities, plans and programs.
