ORDINANCE NO. 76-6-1291
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUB-SECTIONS (a) , (b) , (c) , (d) , (e) , (f) ,
(g) , (h) AND (j) OF SECTION 12-19 "NUMBER , RANK AND SALARIES OF MEMBERS"
OF ARTICLE II "FIRE DEPARTMENT" OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH,KENTUCKY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH,KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Sub-sections (a) , (b) , (c) , (d) , (e) , (f) , (g) , (h) and
(j) of Section 12-19 "Number , rank and salaries of members" , of Article II "Fire
Department" of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah , Kentucky , be amended and
reordained so that same as amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows:
"Sec. 12-19. Number, rank and salaries of members.
(a) The number and rank of the members of the fire department of the city
and their monthly salaries , provided such salaries are not changed by any annual
apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted, shall be as follows:

(b) The assistant chiefs shall be paid at the rate of $1,126.00 per month
until such time as they have completed 17 years of service with the city; at the expiration
of 17 years of service they shall be paid at the rate of $1,132.00 per month; at the
expiration of 20 years of service they shall be paid at the rate of $1,138.00 per month,
and at the expiration of 25 years of service they shall be paid at the rate of $1,144.00
per month .
(c) Captain-training officer shall be paid at the rate of $970.00 per month
until he has served with the city for 14 years; at the expiration of 14 years he shall be

paid at the rate of $976.00 per month; at the expiration of 17 years he shall be paid at
the rate of $982.00 per month; at the expiration of 20 years of service he shall be paid
at the rate of $988.00 per month, and at the expiration of 25 years of service he shall
be paid at the rate of $993.00 per month.
(d) Chief mechanic shall be paid at the same rate per month as provided for
the captain-training officer .
(e) The inspector shall be paid at the rate of $907.00 per month for all
service through 11 years with the city; at the expiration of 11 years the rate of pay shall
be $912.00 per month; at the expiration of 14 years of service the rate of pay shall be
$918.00 per month; at the expiration of 17 years of service , and for all service there-
after , the rate of pay shall be $924.00 per month .
(f) A captain shall be paid at the rate of $3.375 per hour until he has served
with the city for 14 years; at the expiration of 14 years he shall be paid at the rate of
$3.397 per hour; at the expiration of 17 years he shall be paid at the rate of $3.417 per
hour; at the expiration of 20 years he shall be paid at the rate of $3.438 per hour and
at the expiration of 25 years he shall be paid at the rate of $3.458 per hour.
(g) Lieutenants shall be paid at the rate of $3.147 per hour for all service
through 11 years with the city; at the expiration of 11 years the rate of pay shall be
$3.168 per hour; at the expiration of 14 years of service the rate of pay shall be $3.188
per hour; at the expiration of 17 years and for all service thereafter the rate of pay shall
be $3.209 per hour .
(h) Firefighters shall be paid at the rate of $2.480 per hour for the first
6 months; at the expiration of 6 months of service with the city the rate of pay shall be
$2.729 per hour; at the end of 1 year of service the rate of pay shall be $2.812 per hour;
for all service between the 3rd and 5th year the rate of pay shall be $2.907 per hour;
for service between the 5th and 8th years the rate of pay shall be $2.939 per hour; for all
service between the 8th and 11th years the rate of pay shall be $2.970 per hour, and for
all service beyond the 11th year the rate of pay shall be $3.001 per hour .
(j) Firefighter (assistant inspector) shall be paid at the rate of $722.00
per month for the first 6 months; at the expiration of 6 months of service with the city
the rate of pay shall be $791.00 per month; at the end of 1 year of service the rate of
pay shall be $814.00 per month; for all service between the 3rd and 5th years the rate
of pay shall be $840.00 per month; for service between the 5th and 8th years the rate
of pay shall be $849.00 per month; for service between the 8th and 11th years the rate
of pay shall be $858.00 per month, and for all service beyond the 11th year the rate of
pay shall be $867.00 per month."
