OF THE' CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH , KENTUCKY "` " BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF -COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH°,' KENTUCKY: SECTION 1: ~ That Section 10=49 of the Code of Ordinances of the -City of Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that said section as amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows: - "Sec: 10-49. Department of finance. (a) There is hereby created and authorized the following positions in the department of finance , and the salary of -each' position , provided the amount of such salary is not- changed under !any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted , `shall be as- follows: - ~ ~ r' Position ~ - - - Base Monthly Salary This department shall be under the direction and supervision of the city treasurer , a noncivil service position which has heretofore been created b'y separate. ordinance . (c) ' .The computer audit clerk shall be paid at the rate of $590.00 per month for the 'first six months of employment; at the expiration" of six° months $'600.00 per month; at the expiration of one year $610.00 per month; at the ~ expiration of two years $620:00 per month; and at the expiration of three years $630.00 per month, and at the expiration of four years $635.00 per month, -- such increases 'to be made upon recommendation of the city manager . 98 (d) The secretary shall be paid at the rate of $590.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $600.00 per month; at the 'expiration of one year $610".00 per month; at the expiration of two years $620.00 per month,- and 'at the expiration "of four years $630.Ofl per month, such increases to "be made upon recommendation of the "city manager . ' (e) The clerk-typist shall be paid at the rate of $490.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at' the expiration of" six months $535.00 per month; at the expiration of one year $545.00 per month; at the expiration. of two years $555.00 per month; and at the expiration of three years $565.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation: 'of the city manager . (f) The bookkeeper shall `be paid at the rate of $660.00 per month for the first six months of employment;: at `the expiration of .six- .months'- $670.00 per month; and at the expiration of two years $680.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the city manager . (g) For such period of time as the City of Paducah receives and must account for general revenue sharing funds and any special revenue sharing funds from the United States Government, and auditor and bookkeeper shall be compensated for their extra services in an amount as follows: Auditor $30.00 per month. Bookkeeper $20..00 'per month. Any of 'the foregoing positions in subsection (a) may hereafter from time to time be designated for payment from said revenue sharing funds upon motion duly passed by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah." SECTION 2. That Section 10-51 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that said section as amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows: "Sec . 10-51. Engineering department . (a) There` is hereby created and. authorized the following positions in the engineering department, and the salary of each position,. provided the amount of such salary is not changed under any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted, shall be as follows: Position City engineer Assistant city engineer Chief draftsman Chief of party Base Monthly Salary 1;70.0.00 1,000.00' 910.00 910.00 Engineering technician (2 positions) 875:00 Instrument man 760.00 99 Junior draftsman Chainman Clerk-stenographer Clerk-typist 600.00 590.00 580.00 490, 00 (b) The clerk-stenographer shall be paid at the rate of $580.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $590.00 per month; at the expiration of one year $600.00 per month; and at the expiration of two years $610.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the city manager . (c) The Chainman shall be paid at the rate of $590.00 per month for the first year of employment; at the expiration of one year the salary shall be increased to $600.00 per month, such increase to be made upon recommendation of the city manager . (d) The clerk-typist shall be paid at the rate of $490.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $535.00 per month; at the expiration of one year $545.00 per month; at the expiration of two years $555.00 per month; and at the expiration of three years $565.00 per month , such increases to be made upon recommendation of the city mamager . (e) For such period of time as the City of Paducah is involved in the Townlift Project , or for so long as recommended by the City Manager , the Chief Draftsman shall receive additional compensation in an amount not to exceed $240.00 per month for extra services rendered." SECTION 3. That Section 10-52 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that said section as amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows: "Sec . 10-52 . Street department -Generally . (a) There is hereby authorized and created the following positions in the street department , and the salaries of each position , provided the amount of such salary is not changed under any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted, shall be as follows: Position Night foreman Foreman (4 positions) Garage foreman Office manager Sewer maintenance man (6 positions) Base Monthly Salary 900.00 855.00 855.00 640.00 Base Hourly Rate 3.66 loo Equipment operator "A" (5 positions) Equipment operator "B" (6 positions) Equipment operator "C" (2 positions) Street repairman (6 positions) Truck drivers (12 positions) Night watchman Laborers (3 positions) Chief mechanic Mechanic class "A" (5 positions) Mechanic class "B" (2 positions) Concrete finisher (3 positions) Vehicle body repairman 3.96 3.86 3.76 3.56 3.46 3.46 3.23 4.06 3.96 3.76 3.96 3.86 (b) Office manager shall be paid at the rate of $640.00 per month for the first year of employment; at the expiration of one year $658.00 per month; and at the expiration of two years $668.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the city manager . (c) Laborers shall be paid at the rate of $3.23 per hour for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $3.28 per hour; at the expiration of one year $3.33 per hour; and at the expiration of two years $3.38 per hour, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the city manager. (d) All other positions of hourly employment shall be paid at the base hourly rate for the first six months of employment, and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be increased by $0.05 per hour, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the city manager . " SECTION 4. That Section 10-55 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that said section as amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows: "Sec. 10-55. Floodwall Department. (a) There is hereby authorized and created the following positions in the Foodwall department, and the salary of each position, provided the amount of such salary is not changed under any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted shall be as follows: Position Base Monthly Salary Floodwall chief foreman 910.00 Floodwall maintenance (operators) (3 positions) 642.00 Floodwall maintenance. man "A" (operator) (1 position) 732.00 101 (b) The chief foreman shall be paid at the rate of $910.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $920.00 per month; and at the expiration of one year $930.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the city manager . (c) Maintenance men shall be paid at the rate of $642.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $652.00 per month; at the expiration of one year $662.00 per month; at the expiration of two years $672.00 per month; and at the expiration of three years $682.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the city manager ." SECTION 5. That Section 10-56 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that said section as amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows: "Sec. 10-56. Sewage Disposal department. (a) There is hereby authorized and created the following positions in the sewage disposal department, and the salary of each position, provided the amount of such salary is not changed under any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted, shall be as follows: Position Chief operator Maintenance man Base Monthly Salary 945.00 801.00 Operators (3 positions) 642.00 (b) Operators shall be paid at the rate of $642.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $652.00 per month; at the expiration of one year $662.00 per month; at the expiration of two years $672.00 per month; and at the expiration of three years $682.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the city manager." SECTION 6. That Section 10-58 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that said section as amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows: "Sec. 10-58. Police department. (a) There is hereby authorized and created the following positions _in the police department, and the salary of each position, provided the amount of such salary is not changed under any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted, shall be as follows: Position Stenographer -record room Meter maid (2 positions) Base Monthly Salary 580.00 555:00 102 (b) The stenographer -record room, shall be paid at the rate of $580.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $590.00 per month; at the expiration of one year $600.00 per month, and at the expiration of two years $610.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the city manager . (c) Meter maids shall be paid at the rate of $555.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $565.00 per month; at the expiration of one year $575.00 per month; at the expiration of two years $585.00 per month, at the expiration of three years $595.00 per month; and at the expiration of five years $605.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the city manager." SECTION 7. That Section 10-59 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that said section as amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows: "Sec. 10-59. Parks and recreation department. (a) There is hereby created and authorized the following positions in the parks and recreation department, and the salary of each position, provided the amount of such salary is not changed under any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted shall be as follows: Position Administrative and recreation assistant Maintenance supervisor Office manager Recreation supervisor Clerk typist Equipment operator "B" Equipment operator "C" Maintenance man No . 1 (1 position) Maintenance man No. 2 (3 positions) Shop mechanic Truck driver (1 position) Base Monthly Salary 745.00 925.00 640.00 770.00 490.00 Base Hourly Rate 3.86 3.76 3.76 3.66 3.86 3.46 (b) The office manager shall be paid at the rate of $640.00 per month for the first year of employment; at the expiration of one year $658.00 per month; at the expiration of two years $668.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation. of the city manager . 103 (c) Truck drivers shall be paid at the base hourly rate for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be increased by $0.05 per hour , such increases to be made upon recommendation of the city manager . (d) The clerk-typist shall be paid at the rate of $490.00 per month for the first. six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $535.00 per month, at the expiration of one year $545.00 per month; at the expiration of two years $555.00 per month, and at the expiration of three years $565.00 per month; such increases to be made upon recommendation of the city manager." SECTION 8. That Section 10-61 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that said section as amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows: "Sec. 10-61. Unassigned positions. (a) There is hereby authorized and created the following positions not assigned to any department of the City of Paducah, but directly under the supervision of the city manager , and the salary of each position , provided the amount of such salary is not changed under any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted , shall be as follows: Position Director of public services City clerk Senior executive secretary Social worker Planning and zoning administrator - ;~ , Personnel-purchasing clerk-typist MAINTENANCE Base Monthly Salary 1,665.00 950.00 780.00 580.00 825.00 490.00 Chief of maintenance Meter maintenance man Chief maintenance man -OSHA inspector No. 2 maintenance man (2 positions) Maintenance helper (3 positions) Janitor Assistant janitor (2 positions) 1,000.00 Base Hourly Rate 3.76, 4.11 3.66 3.56 3.33 2.93 INSPECTIONS 104 Base Monthly Salary Building and electrical inspector 1,125.00 Assistant to building and electrical inspector 660.00 Evaluation Clerk 660.00 Clerk-typist 490.00 (b) The building and electrical inspector shall perform the duties formerly performed by the building inspector and the electrical inspector, and said building and electrical inspector shall be under the direct supervision of the city manager . (c) Maintenance positions shall be paid at the base hourly rate for the first six months of employment and at the expiration of six months the rate of pay shall be increased by $0.05 per hour , such increases to be made upon recommendation of the city manager . (d) Janitor and laborer positions shall be paid at the base hourly rate for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months there may be an increase of $0.05 per hour; at the expiration of one year there may be an additional increase of $0.05 per hour, and at the expiration of two years there may be an additional increase of $0.05 per hour, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the city manager . (e) The clerk-typist shall be paid at the rate of $490.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $535.00 per month; at the expiration of one year $545.00 per month; at the expiration of two years $555.00 per month; and at the expiration of three years $565.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the city manager." SECTION 9. That Section 10-50 "City assessor's office" of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be, and the same is hereby, repealed . SECTION 10. Sections 1 and 6 were last amended by Ordinance No . 74-12-1062 adopted December 30, 1974; Section 2 was last amended by Ordinance No. 75-11-1192 adopted November 11, 1975; Sections 3, 4 and 5 were last amended by Ordinance No. 75-3-1098 adopted March 25, 1975; Section 7 was last amended by Ordinance No. 75-9-1165 adopted September 9, 1975 and Section 8 was last amended by Ordinance No. 76-2-1236 adopted February 24, 1976. SECTION 11.
