ORDINANCE NO. 80-12-2040
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE. MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREE-
MENT WITH DRAUGHON'S BUSINESS COLLEGE TO, --PARTICIPATE SIN A WORK-STUDY
PROGRAM
WHEREAS, a part of Public Law 88-352 is to make funds available to
institutions of higher education in order to reimburse selected students for a major
portion of their earnings -in .selected -jobs, and
WHEREAS, reimbursement is made to the student in lieu of actual wages
ordinarily paid Jo the student by. his employer, and -
WHEREAS, _ Draughon's Business College shall reimburse the student
for work performed for the employer and shall ma-inta-in records to that effect.
The pay scale will be $3.10 per hour, with Draughon's Business College paying
eighty percent (80%) of the wages and the City paying the additional twenty per-
cent (20%).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized to enter
into an Agreement with Draughon's Business College to participate in their Work -
Study Program, which is attached hereto and made a part hereof.
SECTION 2. The expenditure for participation in this program shall
be charged to the salary account in the department in which the student is
employed.
SECTION 3•. This ordinance shall be read on. two -separate days and
will be effective upon publication of title -and a certified summary thereof.
