ORDINANCE NO. 80-11-2020
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A SUPPLEMENTAL
AGREEMENT WITH THE KENTUCKY DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING, BUILDINGS AND
CONSTRUCTION
WHEREAS, Chapter 198B of the Kentucky Revised Statutes creates a uniform
state building code within the boundaries of the Commonwealth and assigns specific
enforcement responsibilities to both the Department of Housing, Buildings and Con-
struction and to the City of Paducah, and
WHEREAS, on the 23rd day of May, 1980, the Department of Housing,
Buildings and Construction and the City of Paducah entered into an Agreement setting
forth plan review, inspection, and enforcement responsibilities under the Kentucky
Building Code for all buildings within the boundaries of the City of Paducah; and
WHEREAS, it is the intent of the parties to clarify said Agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
'SECTION 1. That the Mayor of the City of Paducah be authorized to enter
into a Supplemental Agreement with the Kentucky Department of Housing, Buildings
and Construction.
SECTION "2. The Supplement Agreement to be entered into is attached
hereto and made a part hereof as if set out in full herein.
SECTION 3. Based upon the necessity for clarifying jurisdiction of the
City for inspection of the hotel -convention center project, an emergency is declared
to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date
of its adoption.
