ORDINANCE NO. 80-9-1978
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN A CONTRACT TO
BE DRAFTED -AND APPROVED BY THE CORPORATION COUNSEL, EXTENDING THE
LEASE ON THE SANITARY LANDFILL FOR A PERIOD OF TWO (2) YEARS
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah and County of McCracken entered into a
Lease on the 28th day of August, 1972, in which McCracken County leased one
hundred (100) acres of land to the City' of Paducah, for 'a period of ten (10) years,
for the purposes of a sanitary landfill; and
WHEREAS, the said lease -,
ease is due to expire on the 28th day of August,
1982, and
WHEREAS, the Kentucky Department of Natural Resources and Environ-
mental Protection have requested the City and the County to extend said lease for
an additional two years so that the City will have the responsibi-City- for maintaining
proper drainage, grading, etc. on the landfill site;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION
1. That the Corporation
Counsel is
hereby authorized to draft
an extension of the
Lease entered into on the
28th day
of August, 1972, by and
between
McCracken
County and
the City
of Paducah
for an additional period of
two (2)
years, and
the Mayor is
hereby
authorized
to execute said Extension of
Lease as approved by the Corporation Counsel.
SECTION '2. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will
be effective upon -publication of -title and a certified summary thereof.
