ORDINANCE NO. 80-8-1958
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUB -SECTION (b) OF ORDINANCE NO. 80-7-1937,
"NUMBER, RANK AND SALARIES OF MEMBERS" OF ARTICLE II "FIRE DEPARTMENT"
OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Sub -section (b) of Ordinance No. 80-7-1937, "number,
rank and salaries of members" of Article 11 "Fine Department" be and it is hereby,
amended to read -as follows:
-"(b) In the event a member of the'fire department acts in a position of -
responsibility higher `than the position the. member holds, and provided -the period
of responsibility is in excess of six hours during any work shift, the member shall
be compensated as follows: Effective July 1, 1980, captain acting as assistant chief,
$8.00 -per--hour and effective July 1, 1981, $9.00 -per-heur. Lieutenant acting as
captain, effective July' 1,-1980, $T.0 per--heur and effective July -1,__1981, $8.00
-per--Roar. Firefighter acting as lieutenant, effective July 1, 1980, $6.00--per--l9eur
and effective July 1, 1981, $7.00 -pet°=-hour. Such compensation, shal I be paid for
any condition creating an absence within. a position for which the acting officers are
required to serve, including vacancy within the position, illness, vacations and
holiday times, acting in another position, or temporary additional assignments.
Such compensation shall not be paid for assignments resulting from members taking
accumulated time, operating on work -back provisions, attending schools or seminars,
or for any other reason than- stated above. Acting pay shall be accounted for by
the assistant fire chiefs_ and payment shall be_made annually with the last pay check
each year. Acting pay shall be subject toall 'payroll deductions.
SECTION 2. That al -I other'sections of Ordinance No.' 80-7-1937 be, and
they are hereby, reaffirmed and reordained.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and
will be effective upon publication of title and a certified summary hereof.
