ORDINANCE NO. 80-7-1950
AN -ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING" THE MAYOR TO- EXECUTE -AN= .ASSIGNMENT
OF LEASE -AND CONSENT
•;WHEREAS, MRJ -& B' Corporation, an Indiana:'Corporatioh, with'a mailing
address of P. O. Box 157, Oaktown, Indiana 47561, is desirous' of constructing a
hotel -convention ~center t project in -an area "known as, Barkley Park, .within the City
of Paducah, and
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah has leased a certain tract of land to the
Paducah -McCracken County- Convention Center Corporation, and
WHEREAS, the Paducah -McCracken County Convention Center Corporation
is desirous of assigning said lease ta'°':MRJ 6-13 Corporation, and
WHEREAS, Section 11 of a Lease Agreement entered into between the City
of Paducah and Paducah -McCracken County Convention Center Corporation requires
approval by the City of Paducah before said Lease can be assigned, and
WHEREAS, it is in the best". interest. of the City of Paducah and the develop-
ment of the hotel -convention center complex to approve the assignment of said Lease.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the assignment of Lease and Consent by and between the
Paducah -McCracken County Convention Center Corporation and MRJ & B Corporation
and the City of Paducah, which is attached hereto and made a part hereof as if set
out in full, is hereby approved.
SECTION 2. The Mayor of the City of Paducah is hereby authorized to
execute the assignment of Lease and Consent on behalf of the City of Paducah.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read at two meetings and, become
effective upon publication.
