ORDINANCE NO. 80-7-1946
ANORDINANCE AUTHORIZING PAYMENT OF JUDGMENT OF McCRACKEN
CIRCUITCOURT IN -FAVOR OF LEON L. HOWELL
WHEREAS, the McCracken Circuit Court in Civil Action No. 79 -CI -847
entered a judgment in favor of Leon L. Howell against the City of Paducah, and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Corporation Counsel . that
said judgment be satisfied- by payment -of $18, 000:'00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be directed to satisfy the judg=
ment entered by the McCracken Circuit Court in- Civil Action No. 79 -CI -847
paying to Leon L Howell, the sum of '$18,000.00. The City Treasurer is hereby
authorized _to disburse the above amount to Leon L. `Howell:
SECTION 2. The Corporation Counsel is authorized to execute any and
all legal documents necessary to dismiss the law suit pending in McCracken
Circuit Court filed by Leon L. Howell, against the City of Paducah.
SECTION 3. The payment made as authorized in Section 1 hereby
should be charged to the following account: Suits and Claims, $18,000.00.
SECTION
4. This ordinance
shall
be introduced
and remain
on file
for one week for
public inspection in
the
completed form
in which it
shall be
put upon its final passage, and if adopted shall be in full force and effect ten
(10) days thereafter.
