ORDINANCE NO. 807 80-7-1943
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING -SECTIONS 12-44 AND 12=48 OF, THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES OF THE' CITY OF PADUCAH; KENTUCKY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, - KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Section 12-44 "Completion required; length of program" ":
of the Code -of :Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and re -
ordained so that said section as amended and reordained- shall hereafter read as
follows:
"Sec. 12-44. Completion required; -length of program`: "..
No person shall -ber employed as a fireman in "the Fire Department of the
City untit -he-has completed a training program and a probationa'r'.y periiodfor .a' - -
period of -one -hundred: twenty (120) days as an- applicant=candidate,-, under'the
terms, peov-i?sions and `conditions as set out -in this division -and as established for

"Salary`of-trainees" of the°Code of-.
Ordinances be amended and reordained so that said section .as amended and re
ordained shall hereafter- read:'as:fo:l ows.
"Sec. 12-48. Salary of trairiees-.
Each person employed as an applicant -candidate for .employment as a
fireman- shall,'be: paid,% effective July `1', 1980, the salae of $500.,;00 per month,
and' effective -July -1; 1981, the, salary of $-550:00 per month; -at the same -tithe
other city salaries are paid, and such training shal.l'-be for training time -at the rate
of 40 hours per week. 'Upon -completion -of sixty (60) days -training as an' `appli-
cant -candidate, the individual shall upon ."recommendation of the chief of the Paducah ::
Fire Department, be' assigned --for training with a regular platoon and be paid at- the -
rate of $2". 70, per hour, effective. July 1., 1-98-0- and at: the rate of $3.OO per hour;
effective July 1, 1981, until the completion of .their training and probationary period".
SECTION -3. This ordinance shall be in -full force and -effect- arid, retro-
active to July 1, 1980.
