A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE PADUCAH PLANNING COMMISSION TO
INITIATE A ZONING CHANGE
WHEREAS, the Paducah-McCracken County Convention Center Corporation
has expressed a desire in developing Barkley Park into a convention center-hotel
complex, and
WHEREAS, Barkley Park and the surrounding area is presently zoned
C-1, and
WHEREAS, the development of a convention center-hotel complex would
require B-3 General Business Zoning
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah hereby
request the Paducah Planning Commission to initiate, on its own motion, the
necessary steps to rezone Barkley Park and the surrounding area, as the Planning
Commission deems appropriate, from C-1 Conservancy Zone to 6-3, General Business
Zone.
SECTION 2. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and
after the date of its adoption.
