HomeMy WebLinkAbout80-6-1923644 [01z11LL1215ya►[i AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER XVII, LICENSES, AND CREATING SECTION 17-83.1, FLEA MARKETS, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah that the business licenses of the City of Paducah does not provide for flea markets; and: WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah that flea markets should be licensed by the City of Paducah; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH: SECTION 1. That a new section, 17-83.1, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah be created to read as follows: "Any person engaging in the business of operating a flea market, trade show, or any business by any other name which is conducted by leasing or renting booths or space to two or more individuals on a day-to-day, week -to -week or month-to-month basis shall pay a license fee to be computed as follows: The number of booths or spaces available to be rented times the the number of days the flea market is to be operated times fifty cents (50t,) . Na refund of this fee shall be made. If the operator of the flea market secures a business license under this section, it will not be necessary for any person running a booth in the flea market to secure a separate business license unless that per- son is otherwise ,regularly engaged in„b,usiness within the City of Paducah or has total sales within the City of Paducah! of $500.00 or more within a calendar. year, .in which. case that, individual must secure a business license as set out in other sections of the Business License Code. The minimum license fee under this section shall be $30.00". SECTION 2.
