HomeMy WebLinkAbout80-5-1918636 ORDINANCE NO. 80-5-1918 AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF REED CRUSHED STONE COMPANY, INC., FOR SALE TO THE GITY OF IT'S REQUIREMENT OF LIMESTONE, TO BE USED IN STREET CONSTRUCTION WORK FOR THE YEAR 1980, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH PURCHASE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF ITHE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah accept the bid of. Reed Crushed Stone Company Inc., for sale to the City of it's requirement of limestone to be used in street construction work for the year 1980, said bid being in words and figures as follows: "We propose to furnish, sell, and deliver to the City of Paducah (within the city limits) crushed limestone in lots of 100 tons or more, as ordered for the following prices per ton: # 78 # 11 # 2 # 68 8 610 3 DGA 9M Riprap $4.75 $4,90 $5.10 $5.25 $5.75 We will start delivery within twenty-four hours after receiving each order. This is a firm price and will not be advanced during the year 1980. In the event of a reduction in our market price, we agree to adjust the price accordingly. Material delivered will be according to Kentucky State Highway specifications for No. 2, No. 3, No. 610, No. 68, No. 78, No. 8, No. 9M, No. 11 and DGA crushed limestone. Riprap will also meet Kentucky State Highway specifications. If the contract is awarded to us, we agree to post a performance bond in the amount of $1,000.00. We also agree to conform with all other requirements as set forth in the request for bids on this material". Said bid being in substantial compliance with the resolution authorized by the Board of Commissioners on April 22, 1980, and as contained in the bid of Reed Crushed Stone Company, Inc., dated May 6, 1980. SECTION 2. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute a contract with Reed Crushed Stone Company, Inc., for the purchase of the limestone as set out in Section 1 above, according to the provisions in said resolution and in said bid. SECTION 3. The purchase price for said limestone and riprap shall be charged to either General Fund or Federal Revenue Sharing Account No. 3454. 637 SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be introduced and remain on file for one week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final .passage, and if adopted, shall be in full _force and ,effect_, ten (10) days thereafter.
