FOR SALE TO THE CITY -OF IT'S REQUIREMENT OF ASPHALT FOR THE YEAR. 1980., TO . BE USED IN STREET CONSTRUCTION AND REPAIR WORK; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH PURCHASE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah accept the bid of Southern States Asphalt Company, Inc., dated May 6, 1980, for sale to the City of it's 1980 requirement of asphalt to be used in street construction and repair work,- said bid being in words and figures as follows: "In response to your request for bids for emulsified asphalt for the period April 16, 1980 through April 15, 1981, we are pleased to quote the following prices: RS -2 $0.6288 per gallon AE -200 $0.6688 per gallon Primer. L $0.8000 per gallon Pug Mill Renta 1 $0.03 per gallon SS -1-H $0.6588 per gallon These prices are subject to increases or decreases due to the in- creases or decreases in our base asphalt price. Said county will be notified accordingly in conjunction with a similar agreement we currently have with the state of Kentucky. The above prices cover delivery into our storage tank at any point in McCracken County, and all materials supplied will meet the current specifications of the Kentucky State Highway Department. Thank you very much for _this opportunity to quote on your requirements." Said bid being in compliance with the resolution authorizing such bids which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on April 22, 1980, and as contained in the bid of Southern States Asphalt Company, Inc., dated May 6, 1980. SECTION 2. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute a contract with Southern States Asphalt Company, Inc., for the pur- chase of the items set forth in Section 1 above, according to the terms and con- ditions of said bid and said resolution. SECTION 3. The purchase price for said asphalt shall be charged to either General Fund or Federal Revenue Sharing Account No. 3454. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be introduced and remain on file for one week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage, and if adopted shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days thereafter. -- 6/ Mayor Introduced by the Board of Commissioners May 13, 1980 Passed by the Board of Commissioness May 27, 1980 Recorded by Louise McKinney, City Clerk, May 27, 1980.
