A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO RUTH GUNTER FOR
HER FORTY-FOUR YEARS OF UNSELFISH SERVICE TO THE PADUCAH SCHOOL
SYSTEM
WHEREAS., Ruth Gunter has given forty-four years of unselfish
service to the Paducah School System, as a teacher, dean of women and interim
principal at Paducah Tilghman -High. SchooF, and
WHEREAS, Ruth Gunter has unselfishly devoted her persona I time
and energies in serving as director of the Marching 68 Drill Corps, and
WHEREAS, Ruth Gunter is retiring from the Paducah Tilghman High
School at the end of this: academic year, and
WHEREAS, May 23 has been designated by the- Paducah Board of
Education as a special day for tribute to Ruth Gunter, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky,
is of the opinion that May 23, 1980, should be declared Ruth Gunter Day in
the City of Paducah.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED- BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That May 23, 1980 be, and it is hereby, declared- to
be Ruth Gunter Day within the City of Paducah, Kentucky.
SECTION 2. The Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah deeply
appreciate the forty-four years of unselfish service which Ruth Gunter has given
to the students of Paducah and the entire community.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption.
