HomeMy WebLinkAboutPurchase of sodium chloride600 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF SODIUM CHLORIDE FOR USE BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF i ,, ~: Y PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to advertise for bids for the purchase of approximately 600 tons of sodium chloride for use by the City of Paducah through the period of March 31, 1981, in accordance with the following specifications: Sodium chloride for highway use only to conform to AASHTO M143 Type 1, Grade-;1~ a§-described in the :State of Kentucky Highway specifications. This salt shall be safety treated and untreated highway salt; delivery FOB Paducah, in truck load lots. Anticipated quantity: 600 tons . SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by a notice posted on the bulletin board at City Hall and by inserting notice of the request for bids in The Paducah Sun to be published as required by law. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed far opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners, who may let a contract to the best responsible bidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids, and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase said sodium chloride until the final adoption of an authoriz- ing ordinance and the execution of a contract. SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its adoption.
