HomeMy WebLinkAboutAdvertise for construction of Littleville Drainage Improvement Project553 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE "LITTLEVILLE DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT" , AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to advertise for construction of the "Littleville Drainage Improvement Project" , said advertisement for bids to be as follows: ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS RECEIPT OF PROPOSALS: The City of Paducah will receive bids for construction of the "Littleville Drainage Project" until p . m . , on the day of 1980, at the office of the City Manager, City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at which time ali bids will be publicly opened, in the Commission Chamber of City Hall, and read aloud. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project consists of concrete pipe construction, drainage excavation, and rip-rap stabilization. OBTAINING CONTRACT DOCUMENTS: Proposed Forms, Contract Documents, in- cluding Plans and Specifications, are on file at the office of the City Engineer, City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky. PROPOSAL GUARANTY: A satisfactory bid bond executed by the bidder and acceptable sureties in an amount equal to 5 0 of the bid shall be submitted with each proposal. The stzccessftxl bidder will be re- gtzired to furnish and pay for satisfactory performance and payment bonds . WAGE RATES: Attention is called to the fact that not less than minimum salaries and wages, as set forth in the specifications, must be paid on this project . OWNER'S RIGHTS RESERVED: The City of Paducah reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive informalities in the bidding . The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by notice posted on the bulletin board at City Hall and by ptxblicati:on ptzrstxant to KRS Chapter 24. No bid shall be opened within ten (10) days from the date on which the resolution is adopted, and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for opening of same . All bids received by the City Manager txp to the time fixed for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the best responsible bidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become 554 legally obligated to enter into a contract for such construction until the final adoption of an authorizing ordinance and tYie execution of a contract .
