A RESOLUTION RECITING THE NEED FOR ACQUIRING A CERTAIN
PARCEL OF LAND BELONGING TO MELVIN RIVES, TO BE USED FOR THE COM-
PLETION OF THE INTERIM COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PLAN AND PROVIDING
FOR AN AUTHORIZING THE CONDEMNATION OF SAME
WHEREAS, a parcel of real estate is owned of record by Melvin Rives,

and is necessary for the completion of the Interim Community Development Plan,
Application No. B-75HN-21-00009, and
WHEREAS, the Urban Renewal and Community Development Agency, by
resolution dated February 12, 1980, requested institution of Condemnation pro-
ceedings in its behlaf , and
WHEREAS, it does not appear that a purchase agreement can be reached
at this time with the owners of the subject property, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky,
does therefore agree with the request of the Urban Renewal and Community
Development Agency of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, that it will be necessary
to institute condemnation proceedings ptzrstzant to the Kentucky Revised Statutes to
acquire title to this property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the Assistant Corporation Counsel be, and he is here-
by, ordered and directed to institute condemnation proceedings in the McCracken
Circuit Cotzrt against Melvin Rives, and any and all other parties in interest to
acquire all of the right title and interest in the subject property owned by the
aforementioned .
SECTION 2. That the parcel to be taken is more particularly described
as follows
Beginning at a stake on the West side of 11th Street 300 feet
South of Jones Street and corner to J . R . Walker; thence
with 11th Street and toward Jones Street 33 feet and 4 inches;
thence at right angles and toward 12th Street 158 feet to an
alley; thence with said alley toward Norton Street 33 feet
4 inches to another corner of J . R . Walker; thence with J . R .
Walker's line 158 feet to the beginning stake on 11th Street.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and
after the date of its adoption .
