AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO MAKE
PAYMENT TO PADUCAH ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FOR RENOVATION OF THE
FORMER COMMERCE CENTER LOCATED AT 401 KENTUCKY AVENUE FOR USE AS
A CALL CENTER FOR TELETECH, INC.
WHEREAS, Paducah Economic Development (PED) contracted to have the
former Commerce Center located at 401 Kentucky Avenue to be renovated as a call center for
Teletech, Inc., in the amount of $1.15 million; and
WHEREAS, PED received a grant in the amount of $1 million for the renovation
project leaving a total of $150,000 to be paid for the renovations; and
WHEREAS, PED has requested the City assist with the renovation costs in the
amount of $75,000; and
WHEREAS, the City agrees to grant the request.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah hereby authorizes the Finance Director to
make payment to Paducah Economic Development in the amount of $75,000, for renovations to
the former Commerce Center now used as a call center for Teletech, Inc., located at 401
Kentucky Avenue.
SECTION 2. This expenditure shall be charged to Project Account EO00122, ED
Reserve, which will be drawn from the City's half cent payroll tax investment fund.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
