HomeMy WebLinkAbout10/05/99October 5, 1999 At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners, held in the Commission Chambers at City Hall, at 12:00 Noon, October 5, 1999, Mayor Jones presided, and upon call of the roll by the City Clerk, the following answered to their names: Commissioners Coleman, Paxton, Smith, Wrye and Mayor Jones (5). R & F NOTICES Commissioner Coleman offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Smith, that the executed Notices of Called Meeting for 12:00 noon., Tuesday, October 5, 1999, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Paxton, Smith, Wrye and Mayor Jones (5). EXECUTIVE SESSION Commissioner Paxton offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Wrye, that the Board go into closed session for discussion of matters pertaining to the following topics: 1. Future sale or acquisition of a specific parcel(s) of real estate, as permitted by KRS 61.810(1)(b). 2. Proposed or pending litigation, as permitted by KRS 61.810(1)(c) 3. Issues which might lead to the appointment, dismissal or disciplining of an employee, as permitted by KRS 61.810(1)(f) Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Paxton, Smith, Wrye and Mayor Jones (5). Y•,. At the conclusion of the Executive Session the Board reconvened in Open Session, whereupon the Mayor called the meeting back to order. PERSONNEL CHANGES Commissioner Paxton offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Smith, that upon the recommendation of the City Manager, the City of Paducah orders that the personnel changes on the attached list be approved. (SEE MUNICIPAL ORDER BOOK) Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Paxton, Smith and *Mayor Jones (3). Commissioner Coleman abstained (1). Commissioner Wrye had left the meeting for jury duty (1). Upon voting, Mayor Jones made the following statement: "It is absolutely necessary that the Police Department show diversity in gender and race in any future hires." Note: Michael C. Utley and Samuel Adams were employed as patrolmen, in the above personnel action. Upon motion the meeting adjourned. ADOPTED: October 26, 1999 City Jerk e 123
