HomeMy WebLinkAbout80-1-1838473 ORDINANCE NO. 80-1-1838 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT TO POLLOCK SALT COMPANY, FOR THE PURCHASE OF SIX HUNDRED TONS OF SALT AT A PRICE. OF $40.97 PER, TON, RATIFYING THE ACTION OF THE CITY MANAGER AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY TO EXIST WHEREAS, during the past few, months the City requested bids for salt to be used during the winter, season, and WHEREAS, due to various causes: the City was unable to obtain any bids for said salt, and WHEREAS, the City Manager, pursuant to KRS 424.260, certified an _emergency existed and authorized the immediate procural of six hundred tons of salt.. NOW, THEREFORE, BE _IT ORDAINED_ BY., THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: _ SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, authorize payment to Pollock Salt -Company, for the purchase ..of six hundred tons of _salt, at a price of $40.97 per ton, f.o.b. Street Department of the City of Paducah, Kentucky. SECTION 2. The action of the City Manager, pursuant to KRS 424.260, certifying an emergency existed is hereby approved and his actions thereunder are hereby ratified.. SECTION 3. The purchase price for said salt shall be charged to General Fund Account No. 3412 . SECTION 4. That pursuant to KRS 84.100 (3) the requirement for reading of this ordinance at two separate,. meetings shall be suspended, provided that this ordinance pass by a`vote of 'two-thirds of the members'of the Board of Commissioners of the City' of Paducah. SECTION 5. An emergency is declared to exist and .this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and afterthe date of its adoption.
