FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF IT'S REQUIREMENT OF. :ASPHALT FOR - THE _YEAR 1978, TO BE USED._ IN STREET _ CONSTRUCTION_ AND REPAIR -WORK, AND AUTHORIZING. THE CITY. MANAGER TO _ EXECUTE. A CONTRACT - FOR SUCH PURCHASE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah accept the bid of Southern States Asphalt Company, Inc . , dated June 1, 1978, for sale to the City of it's 1978 requirement of asphalt to be used in street construction and repair work, said bid being in words and figures as follows: "In response to your request for bids for emulsified asphalt for the for the calendar year of 1978, we are pleased to quote the following prices: AE -200 RS -2 Primer L Pug Mill Rental $0.3604 per gallon $0.3393 per gallon $0.4760 per gallon $0.0200, per; gallon The above ,prices ,cover. delivery -to any,,,point within the .city of Paducah . Due to' close proximity -of our terminal to the city of Paducah, we will be unable to furnish a storage tank for the above mentioned emulsions with the exception of the tank that accompanies the pug mill when mixing AE -200. All of our products meet the current specifications of the Kentucky State Highway Department". Said bid being in compliance with the resolution authorizing such bids which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners May 9, 1978. SECTION 2. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute a contract with Southern States Asphalt Company, Inc. for the purchase of the items set forth in Section 1 above, and according to the terms and conditions of said bid and said resolution. SECTION 3. The purchase price for said material shall be charged to General Fund Account No. 3454. SECTION 4. An emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance shall therefore be introduced and remain on file for public inspection for one week in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage, and if adopted shall be in full force and effect immediately thereafter.
