BOARD OF, COMMISSIONERS -,OF- THE CITY OF: PADUCAH;,: KENTUCKY:. _SE.CTION 1-._ ..That Sub -section (a) . of -Section 2-21 "Vacation leave generally" of the Code- of Ordinances of : the City --of Paducah, Kentucky, be amended, and .r.eordained so -.that said sub -section as amended. and r.eordained Shall :.-hereafter read as. follows: "Sec....2-21. .-Vacation leave .generally. - (a). All present employees,. shall . continue. to , receive. vacation atthe rate of one and one-fourth (1-1/4) days of, vacation .for, -each: month of employment .with the city except for. _those- employees who- .have begun_ their .fifteenth, year. of _ service with the, city._ who.. shall, receive vacation at -the -.increased rate as hereinafter -. set: -forth-. Except for members of the Police and Fire Departments, all employees- employed: after the: date of March 31, „1976 shall receive vacation time as ,follows: During the first year of employment, vacation time shall accrue at the rate of one-half . (.1/2),- day- per month for .a -total of ..six, days., Between the beginning --of the second -and the beginning of the fifth year of employment, employees shall accrue vacation at the rate of three fourths (3/4) day per month for a total of nine days per year. From the beginning of the fifth year to the beginning of the tenth year of employment, the accrual rate shall be one (1) day per month for a total of twelve days per year. Between the beginning of the tenth year and the beginning of the fifteenth year of service, the accrual rate shall be one and one-fourth (1-1/4) days per month for a total of fifteen days per year. Between the fifteenth year and the beginning of the twentieth year of service, the accrual rate shall be one and one-half (1-1/2) days per month for a total of eighteen days vacation per year. From the twentieth year through the twenty-fifth year of service, the accrual rate of vacation will be one and three-fourths (1-3/4) days per month for a total of twenty-one days per year. For all employees with more than twenty-five years of service the accrual rate of vacation shall be two days per month for a total of twenty-four days per year. An employee may accumulate up to a maximum of forty (40) days of vacation at any one time. After obtaining vacation eligibility, an employee may take vacation as may be reasonably scheduled with his de- partment head as hereinafter set forth in sub -section (g) , or in the case of a depart- ment head, as may be scheduled with the City Manager. A month in which a salaried employee is paid for fifteen (15) days or more and a daily or hourly wage employee is paid for twelve (12) days or more shall be considered as a month of service. 863 Members of the police department that have successfully completed fifteen (15) years of continuous service with the department shall thereafter accrue vacation at the rate of one and on (1-1/2) days of vacation for' each month of employment with the city, and may accrue tipto a maximum of thirty (30) days of vacation at any one time. Members of said department that have successfully completed thirty years of continuous service -with the -department shall thereafter accrue"vacation at the rate of one and three-fourths (1-3/4) days vacation for each month of employement with the city, '-and -may-accrue up to a' maximum of thirty-five (35) days of vacation at any one`'time . ' Members of 'the Fire Department that `have successfully completed twenty years 'of continuous service witli Athe_ department's hall thereafter accrue' vacation at- the rate of one and one-half (1-1/2) days of vacation for each month of employment with the city, and members of said' department -that have successfully completed twenty- five years_bf "continuous service with, the: department shall thereafter 'accrue vacation at the -rate of one and three-fourths (1-3/4) `days of vacation for each month of employment' with- the city, and each ' may accrue up to a maximum of thirty ($0) days of vacation at any -one time"-.
